Waterville, ME Area:

Hospice Nurses (RNs) –Active RN license with the State of Maine required. One year of nursing experience is preferred.  Oncology, hospice, acute care and/or home care experience is preferred. Valid driver’s license, agency required auto insurance and current BLS for Healthcare Providers required.

Portland, ME Area:

Hospice Nurses (RNs) – Active RN license with the State of Maine required. One year of nursing experience is preferred.  Oncology, hospice, acute care and/or home care experience is preferred.  Valid driver’s license, agency required auto insurance and current BLS for Healthcare Providers required.

CNA/Home Health Aides – Active certification on the State of Maine CNA Registry required.  We will provide on the job training to become a Home Health Aide!  Oncology, hospice, acute care and/or home care experience preferred. Valid driver’s license, agency required auto insurance and current BLS for Healthcare Providers required.

Ellsworth, ME Area:

Hospice Nurses (RNs) – Sign on Bonus available for staff meeting eligibility criteria!  Active RN license with the State of Maine required. One year of nursing experience is preferred.  Oncology, hospice, acute care and/or home care experience is preferred.  Valid driver’s license, agency required auto insurance and current BLS for Healthcare Providers required.

Nurse Practitioner – Per diem positions available.  Active RN license with the State of Maine and approval from the Board of Nursing to practice in the advanced role required.  Three years of nursing experience is required.  Oncology, hospice, acute care and/or home care experience preferred.  Valid driver’s license, agency required auto insurance and current BLS for Healthcare Providers required.

Caribou, ME Area:

Hospice Nurses (RNs) –Active RN license with the State of Maine required. One year of nursing experience is preferred.  Oncology, hospice, acute care and/or home care experience is preferred. Valid driver’s license, agency required auto insurance and current BLS for Healthcare Providers required.

Bangor, ME Area:

Hospice Nurses (RNs) – Active RN license with the State of Maine required. One year of nursing experience is preferred.  Oncology, hospice, acute care and/or home care experience is preferred. Valid driver’s license, agency required auto insurance and current BLS for Healthcare Providers required.

Hospice Outreach Nurses (RNs) – Active RN license with the State of Maine required. Six years of nursing experience required, five of which are in hospice.  Certification as a CHPN by the Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse required. Valid driver’s license, agency required auto insurance and current BLS for Healthcare Providers required.

Augusta, ME area:

Hospice Bereavement Coordinator

Responsible for overall management of a bereavement program. Responsibilities include the planning, implementation, maintainance and provision of services necessary to patients, identified caregivers, hospice staff, and the community at large. Amedisys bereavement services extend for the time period of the patient’s admission to hospice services until at least thirteen months after the death of the patient. 

Qualifications

1. Bachelor degree in social work, psychology, counseling, related field or pastoral education with documented evidence of training and experience in grief therapy and bereavement counseling helpful.
2. Prefer three (3) years experience in family and/or individual counseling with additional training in grief and bereavement.
3. Knowledge of grief and bereavement counseling; understanding of physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs of terminally ill patients and their caregivers.
4. Must be familiar with general use and functions of the computer, such as, user names and password concepts; internet; e-mail; navigation of computer desktop, including starting programs, using files, and windows, effectively use navigation buttons and tool bars; ability to self-manage online HR services and online training programs.
